The Standard

Background Information

The second edition of the UK Woodland Assurance Standard superseded the first edition from November 1st 2006 following a launch ceremony held in London.

Following a review an amended version of the Second Edition of the UK Woodland Assurance Standard was launched on November 26th 2008.  The principal change is the introduction of a new Small and Low Intensity Managed ('SLIM') woodland category: this incorporates the previous Small Woodland category of 100 hectares or under and extends it to include woodlands being managed at a low intensity using a definition based on harvested volumes.
